My trip to India was the best experience of my life, every day was amazing! The children at the orphanage were so inviting, caring and happy. They were so nice and I felt like family there, I made so many new friends and so many good memories with them all that I will hold forever such as our huge tickle fight, where we were all laughing and having a really good time! I did not expect to feel so at home there but I did and I loved that feeling.

My favourite day of the 10 days was the beach, where we spent the whole day, with lots of smiles, laughs and fun. The fact that they visit this beach once a year really upsets me because it’s not far from the orphanage, so for us to be able to take them to the beach and make them smile is a great pleasure and made me feel so happy. When we arrived at the beach, they all got off the bus and ran so fast towards the sea, like they had no care in the world. They all dragged us in and it was a rewarding experience. We spent ages in the water playing games, splashing at each other etc. we had ice cream and played more games on the beach such as kabaddi, which is an Indian sport, this was new to us but the kids really enjoyed it and wanted us to join in. later we had food on the beach which Deevna had made us, it was really spicy but so tasty. The children ate with us and we enjoyed the last moments on the beach together.

Emmanuel and Deevna who are the owners of the orphanage are the most kind and down to earth people ever, we had so many laughs together and they were so welcoming, how they welcomed us into their home.

Whilst in India I was rewarded with the job of providing them with 7 days of happiness and I tried to deliver that to them, however we could not have done it without all the school supplies that we were able to give them, the crafts and the presents in which they all received and were so thankful for. I am so thankful that I was one of few that were able to go on this amazing experience because it has really changed my views on things, such as the children in India cherish the smallest things because they don’t get much and what they do get is a lot to them so in my eyes that has made me not take things for granted and love the things I have because it would be so much for them. They don’t get that much at all compared to what we get over her, yet they are some of the happiest children I have ever met. I have taken so much back from this trip and it was again the best experience of my life and I would 100% love to go again, but its someone else’s turn to go next year and have this life changing experience!
